New Enhanced Learning Environment for All Courses

 

These days, the facts about what you need to learn are available for free in more places than ever thanks to Google. However, amid the noise level of information is a need for someone to make the information relevant and valuable. Learners need to understand the facts about technology in the context in which they are using it. And it helps to have someone that can map your individual experience to what you need to learn. These trends explain why more customers are seeking top-notch instructors that can design learning specifically for their team and project.

But with great instructors, great classes are easy to come by. That should be expected. Once you’ve made the investment to attend an instructor-led course, the challenge becomes bringing back the magic of the live interaction to your daily work when you need it. 

To help, we’ve designed an enhanced learning environment that not only allows you to participate from anywhere during class, but organizes what occurs in class for search and retrieval after class when you need it most. What occurs in class is much more than a lecture while you take notes. It is the demo, the code samples, the references to books, articles and other resources. It is also the whiteboard drawings and Q&A from every other student and interaction during lab exercises.

In our new enhanced learning environment, all of this is dynamically captured and indexed for take home use.

We are also introducing DevelopMentor Quarterly Reviews as part of every course. Hopefully we’ve not mislabeled them because they will not be a “review” of what you did in class. Rather we are interested to learn and support the application of what you learned. Quarterly reviews will be 1-day live online sessions by invitation only to our clients. Clients will submit in advance, the challenges they’ve faced with the application of what they learned, and request areas they want to focus on. Our instructors will organize the day around the topics of interest to those that have registered. Each review will be a lively discussion and presentation of the issues covered in the course, but exclusively in the client’s application context. The DevelopMentor Quarterly Review will also be using the same learning environment, so all the nuggets will be able to be exported for retrieval with the same tools. 

As a training provider, we want to keep score by what you can do after class. We believe the enhancements we’ve made to our learning environment will extend the value of your investment in learning new skills and built a bridge across the classic divide that separates learning from application.
